Sikhlens North American Special Presentation “Proud To Be A Sikh II”

Proud to be a Sikh 2 both teaches and inspires young Sikhs who wish to live their lives in harmony with the Sikh gurus’ teachings.

Based on the politically motivated desecration of The Guru Granth Sahib, Proud To Be A Sikh II tells the story of a devout Sikh professor returning to a very different India after his decades abroad, and finding that his life’s mission is to embody in his own actions, a true Sikh who can inspire the younger generation.

Proud To Be A Sikh II tells the story of a gursikh professor who returns to India after decades of self-exile following the massacres of Sikhs in 1984. He finds a radically different Punjab, where young Sikh men are cutting their hair, not studying the scriptures, and in general not caring about their Sikh heritage or identity. A well-meaning Khalsa College student’s misinterpretation of Sikhi arouses the interest of his professor. The student, learning from his professor, befriends a non-Sikh and learns what it truly means to be a good Sikh. Meanwhile the professor tries to embody both saintliness and a warrior’s character as he faces challenges and difficulties of his own. By the end, he has inspired all those who know him, and learned new things about himself as well.

After the movie we will have a Q&A session with the filmmakers.

Price ($ USD):  $20.00 online  |  $30.00 at the door  |  No refunds.

The proceeds from the screening will go to the “Project S” scholarship fund.
