To motivate and connect the Sikh community through Seva
Are your children at home feeling bored? Are your teenagers frustrated that they can’t complete their community service hours? Do you know others that need help during their isolation, if only someone to talk to? Do you have a special talent you could transfer on-line, and assist/teach others?
We have created this web page and a Facebook Community (link here) designed to act as an exchange between those who need help, and those that want to volunteer their services. It is designed to be a place to come together, whether to share stories, discuss issues, tutor, or mentor others for college or jobs. It’s an opportunity to build resumes and earn community recognition, but more importantly to do seva for others during these troubling times. All participants will be awarded a Certificate of Participation from Sikhlens Foundation indicating their hours. Participants will also be recognized by various means within the community, and on the Facebook Community page.
If you are interested in “Joining Hands” with others in this community, please fill out the form below.
Also indicate what service you could provide, or what help you need. We’ve listed a few activities to get you thinking:
- Instrument Learning
- Keertan Learning / Gurbani Vichar
- Painting / Drawing / Art
