Amandeep Singh
The 2015 Sikhpoint Calendar features Inkquisitive Illustration by Amandeep Singh. He is known for re-imagining Sikhi-based imagery: the Golden Temple, the Gurus, Baba Deep Singh, Bhagat Singh, Udham Singh. He had a first solo show in 2012 (Keep Calm, Imagination is Free) and a 2013 North American tour, Souled Out, in Toronto, Vancouver, Brooklyn, and Sacramento.
After the attack on the Oak Creek gurdwara, he made a painting that now hangs in Oak Creek City Hall. Gap shared his response to hate around Waris Ahluwalia's advertisement. His work has been noticed by Pharrell Williams' I Am Other, Dreamville, LL Cool J, Missy Elliott, and David Blaine.
January is a mixed-media Baba Deep Singh, tied to the artist's given name, Amandeep. Other months include Fauja Singh (the Turbaned Tornado), a Panj Pyare piece for Birmingham City Council, Never Forget 1984, and Wisconsin (2012).
