~ Jaap Sahib, Patshai 10 ~ • SIKHISM: The Sikh faith was enriched, strengthened, and guided by ten successive Gurus (Enlightened Teachers) between 1469-1708. The Tenth and last Sikh Guru, Gobind Singh, created Khalsa (The Order of the Pure) in 1699; mandated wearing sacred symbols, self-defense, and distinct identity for all followers; and before his death at Nander in 1708, declared The Guru Granth Sahib (the Sikh Holy Scripture) as the Eternal Guru of Sikhs.
