Our work capturing and sharing stories through film has grown significantly, and we owe much of this success to generous supporters like you. We appreciate the opportunity to share an update on our progress and plans and to express how much your continued support means to us.

Sikhlens’ Impact briefly

Thanks to your contributions, we have achieved the following:

  • 200+ film festivals worldwide: Films produced by Sikhlens have been featured in prestigious festivals around the globe.
  • 150+ films produced on various topics, preserving stories that highlight Sikh culture, history, and contributions.
  • 20+ films currently in production for 2024-2025, focusing on global issues and stories from diverse communities.
  • 6,000+ children trained through our Digital Voices Program, empowering the next generation of Sikh filmmakers.
  • Sikhlens Studios was established in multiple countries, including the USA, Canada, India, Pakistan, and the UK. It provides filmmakers with access to professional equipment and resources worth over $500K.
  • Sikhlens Project Pakistan: A groundbreaking initiative dedicated to exploring and preserving Sikh heritage across both Punjab regions (Chardha and Lehnda Punjab). We currently have seven films in production under this initiative, two of which we are excited to share with you:

Some of these films are being used to secure grants to restore Gurdwaras and preserve the rich Sikh history in the region. Seven films in Project Pakistan are under production. They will be released in 2025.

  • Support for 5-10 new films each year, produced by independent filmmakers using Sikhlens equipment.
  • 24 episodes of Guru Nanak’s Travels screened and distributed, with multi-language versions underway.
  • Collaborations with over 5 NGOs yearly, producing films to support their mission, recruit volunteers, and secure funding.
  • Partnerships with top-tier media platforms like PBS, BBC, and Doordarshan provide a platform for Sikh-centric stories.
  • Support for Sikh scholars and filmmakers with scholarships, mentorship, and equipment grants in the USA, UK, Canada, and India.

Sikhlens is the only organization worldwide addressing the critical issue of Sikh representation in film, media, and broadcast journalism. Through our initiatives like Project SDestination SCommunity VoicesProject Pakistan, and the Digital Voice Program, we are not only committed to preserving Sikh stories. Still, we are actively working to establish a presence for Sikhs within significant studios and media outlets. We aim to inspire our community to take ownership of these narratives by fostering a pipeline of Sikh talent equipped to write, direct, and produce stories from a uniquely Sikh perspective.
